October 26, 2006

Fidelity Ventures, a firm specializing in technology investments at the “Go-to-Market” phase of a company’s lifecycle, today announced the appointments of Shyam Kamadolli and Joshua Maxey as associates. Fidelity Ventures now has a team of 16 investment professionals in the United States and London, and currently manages more than $800 million in venture capital.

Kamadolli and Maxey will work with Fidelity Ventures’ partners in the United States and London to identify new investment opportunities in technology areas such as open source software, wireless infrastructure, home networking and the data center. Additionally, both associates will leverage Fidelity Investments’ knowledge of the consumer marketplace to find investment opportunities in leading-edge companies that utilize technology to deliver behavior-changing consumer services. Fidelity Ventures recently invested in two companies in this market: Prosper, an online peer-to-peer lending marketplace and Xoom, an online-to-offline international money transfer service.

“As investment opportunities and deal flow continue to increase in quality and quantity, it’s more important than ever to build a diverse, deep and experienced investment team,” said Robert C. Ketterson, Fidelity Ventures’ managing partner. “Shyam’s entrepreneurial experience and Joshua’s analytical expertise strengthen our ability to identify and support global companies -- across multiple industries and sectors -- that have the potential to become category leaders.”
