
Michael Wilens is a member of the Fidelity's executive committee, serves as a special advisor to senior Fidelity leadership, and provides executive oversight to Fidelity Charitable Services (FCS) and Fidelity's Center for Advanced Technology (FCAT). Prior to this role, Mike led Fidelity's Personal and Workplace Technology organization, was President of Fidelity's Corporate Operations and Technology organization (which included central technology functions, fund accounting and cash management services, international operations, Charitable Services and other critical shared services). Preceding these roles, Mike headed Fidelity's Asset Management, overseeing Fidelity Management & Research Company (FMRCo), Pyramis Global Advisors and Strategic Advisers, Inc. (SAI). He has also led Fidelity's Workplace Investing Client Managment, the organization responsible for developing stronger and deeper relationships with Fidelity's existing workplace retirement clients and pursuing new and emerging market opportunities.
Prior to joining Fidelity, Mike spent eleven years in various senior roles at Thomson Reuters including CEO of Thomson's North American Legal division ("Westlaw") where he transformed the division, responsible for information solutions and software for legal professionals, into the largest, most profitable and fastest growing of Thomson's businesses. At Westlaw, Mike directed approximately 8,000 staff members and worked with annual revenue of $2.2 billion and operating income of $880 million. Other positions held by Mike included CEO of Groupe Lagardere's Legion in London from 1995 to 1996, CTO of Lawyers' Cooperative Publishing from 1994 to 1995, and founder/COO of HCIA from 1989-1994.
Mike received a bachelor of science and master of science in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT in 1975 and his MBA from the University of Michigan in 1978.
