Vijay Manwani is a serial entrepreneur and technologist. Over 18 years, Vijay founded, led and raised $40M in venture capital and his companies have returned over $1.2B of capital. Vijay has deep experience in the data center automation, cloud computing and consumer travel domains. Most recently, he was CTO at BMC Software where he joined via the acquisition of BladeLogic, a data center automation company he co-founded in 2001. At BladeLogic he was responsible for overall product management, product strategy and engineering. He led all phases of the company's development efforts which resulted in BladeLogic's product leadership position. Earlier, Vijay was the CTO at Breakaway Solutions where he was responsible for all technology initiatives in teh ASP and eBusiness lines of business. Prior to Breakaway, Vijay was the CTO and co-founder of Eggrock Partners, and ASP/eBusiness services firm that was acquired by Breakaway Solutions. Vijay is recognized as one of the most thoughtful and experienced software technologists in the industry with a long track record of success. In his 24 year career, Vijay has held technology positions of increasing respnsibility at Unisys, TCI and Cambridge Technology Partners.
He holds a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Pune University, India, In addition, he serves on several technical advisory boards, holds several patents. He is also currently an EIR at MIT's E-Center.
