HAAS Alert provides a digital alerting solution for fire, police, EMS, and tow fleets to effectively alert civilian drivers of emergencies in advance of lights and sirens to help increase road safety. In order to facilitate real-time alerting, its software connects into the fleet’s existing telematics hardware on their vehicle or offers its own device that collects and broadcasts accurate, location-based alerts either directly into car dashboards or through navigation apps.

About HAAS Alert
Background
HAAS Alert was founded in 2015. After co-founder Cory Hohs was nearly struck by a responding ambulance, he decided to leverage his background in mapping and navigation to explore how technology could enable real-time communication between things on the road. Along with Jigar Patel, an engineer with a background in cloud computing and distributed systems, and Noah Levens, a creative product and brand designer, the three co-founded the Company and began work on what would become Safety Cloud.
Why We Invested in HAAS Alert
When the Volition team first connected with the Company, it was clear that CEO Cory Hohs, and CTO Jigar Patel, understood the pain points of each stakeholder and the opportunity in front of them. Cory and Jigar’s previous experience in navigation technology at NAVTEQ and HERE Maps, gave the Company’s team the expertise necessary to create a digital alerting solution to emergency fleets via a cloud-based communication platform.
As the first mover in this market, the Company has grown rapidly since its founding, partnering with thousands of emergency departments across North America to help protect first responders on the roadways. Alongside the Company’s digital alerting capabilities, the Company also provides emergency departments with a live fleet tracking dashboard and analytics reports around individual vehicle performance. Above all, the Volition team was and continues to be impressed with the incredible team that Cory and Jigar have built at HAAS Alert and the passion that they have for the opportunity in front of them.
